The Malur branch of Chemmanur Jewelers has nabbed women who were trying to steal gold after diverting the employees' attention.

The management grew suspicious when they saw the women in CCTV visuals some time ago. The images were circulated and employees warned.

When the women arrived at the Malur showroom, the staff, armed with the visuals, handed them over to the police.

"The moment the women entered the showroom, the staff recognized them and downed the shutters. However, two ran away. The arrested are Revathi, Rathna, Aruna and Vasantha, from Kuppam district in Andhra Pradesh," police said.

The Bangalore Police, however, said the women had not struck in the city. "Malur police are interrogating them. Their role in thefts in the city is not confirmed," police said.
