In the UK, it has been found that video surveillance technology has assisted in one-third of all arrests on the West Midlands Motorway. Video surveillance cameras, pared with license plate recognition software and a variety of databases have helped police capture criminals.
People are being arrested for crimes includin: stolen cars, fraudulent identification, murder suspects and smugglers.
